80sTees brings back old Nostalgia
Posted on June 17 2015
A one stop shop for all things retro relating to the 1980's, created in 2000 as a way to sell merch of movies, TV shows and cartoon t shirts of all kinds.
In a way seeing a character, logo or even a colour scheme can take you back to your childhood and remind you of pleasant times gone by. By checking out 80sTees (See our Gifts & Coupons page), a tshirt company founded by Kevin Stecko, you're wearing a piece of your childhood on your chest and sleeves.
So what do they have on offer? Seasonal like Christmas shirts to cartoons like Thundercats, He Man, Transformers and all the other tv series that used to be on Nick or Saturday morning tv. They also have non-80s apparel too such as Big Bang Theory and The Hangover. We had a look at some pieces in particular and gave our comments on them.
The iconic logo stands out, the black panther on a red dot is a very popular symbol.
Remember Johnny from Karate Kid and "Sweep the leg". This is the movie replica costume of the Cobra Kai clothing used in the film.
This famous yellow bird's face is now on a tshirt. When I was small he was so big and tall, whilst being a little bit scary with the same voice as Michael Jackson!
You might recognise this tshirt in the King of Pop's music video for Beat It. Also to note Weird Al also wore this replica michael jackson t shirt in his Eat it piece on MTV.
If you're from the 1980's then you'll remember the film Top Gun with Tom Cruise and Goose. This full costume looks great and matches with the aviator shades too.
More Eighties Inspiration
I wonder what happened to Atari? I remember the arcade machines but the home console didn't fare so well. However, the logo is iconic and super cool and it's on a royal blue tee.
This retro tshirt of the hugely famous film starring Bill Murray left a huge impression on alot of 80's kids. Amazing but simple ghost drawing that has lasted the test of time.
I remember when these guys teamed up with Aerosmith and made Walk this Way, an amazing collaberation. Pioners of Hip Hop.
A costume hoodie of one of the bad guys in Transformers. He had a high pitched evil voice and couldn't be trusted, that's what I remember about him.
The Baroness, I think made famous in the film with Sienna Miller playing the part. Looks like vinyl with a cleavage/asset enhancing opening with the GI Joe logo on.
80sTees don't just sell tees and tops, take a look at this great Yoda type backpack. Reminds me of the character being carried around in the film.
